CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS REVIEW

CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS REVIEW

"Activision and treyarch just nailed it. "

BIG TIME

AIR SUPPORT: When the fight doesn't go your way, call in an attack helicopter.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops obliterates modern warfare sales record, crowning the title with 5 days sales record totaling 650 million in worldwide revenue, busting Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 at 550 million.
COD: Black Ops takes the game to the height of the Cold War during the 60s with flashbacks sequencing of  much dark and grittier story than seen before in other COD titles, setting a standard of its own.
The story is based on  Alex Mason, being held captive and interrogated by an unknown captor and asked about NOVA 6. The Alex Mason story will be told in flashbacks.
NOVA SIX
The graphics in the game is simply amazing though its not record breaking. There are minor bugs but it will not screw up the gaming experience. The gunshots and explosions are rendered well with blood splatters and reflections. On the gun scopes, gamers can even see clearly rendered reflection of the surroundings.
Surroundings are reflected on glass lens.
Adrenaline action.
Grand Scale.
The campaign has 15 missions and last a fair time, the story brings players to different places throughout the world, uncovering the mystery behind Mason's imprisonment as you play. However, the storyline isn't perfect because it can be a little confusing and disjointed at times probably due to the frequent hops through different time periods and in flashback sequence. Causing some younger gamers a challenge to understand the story.
If you understand the story well, you will find it interesting.
Every shooted like explosions and big guns. Black Ops features heavy duty firearms, such as miniguns, RPGs, and also flame throwers. In mutliplayer, gamers even able to get hold on fire spewing shotguns and explosive crossbows.
Nothing beats an attack chopper in the early morning over Vietnam.

The campaign is polished but has its own fair share of problems. For instance, during the Battle of Khe Sanh, we faced an endless wave of enemies and there wasn't any clear indication of what we supposed to do.
We died half a dozen times while waiting for the scripted sequence to kick in. Also the AI for enemies follow scripted paths and enemies tend to appear at the same places each time a level is replayed. The AI is good at shooting but can be incredibly stupid at times and will just rush past enemies or standing still waiting for a headshot.

Black Ops also has its own fair share of bloody moments.

The online multiplayer mode is just as engaging and addictive as other previous COD titles. There are also combat training mode for players to polish their skills before taking on real opponents and also has a Zombie mode where players have to chew through waves and waves of zombies.
"Any last words Mr President?" ZOMBIE MODE.

VERDICTTM
"Call of Duty: Black Ops is a feature and action packed FPS where everyone should try it out. For every FPS gamers out there, hungry for more Modern Warfare style action, Black Ops is a worthy lookout. " Vincent.

SMARTPHONES GETTING SMARTER

SMARTPHONES GETTING SMARTER

"One day our phones will have the power of a desktop. "

QUALCOMM had already announced its 1.5 GHZ snapdragon early this year, now it teases some more DUAL CORE snapdragon processors.

The 23nm dual-core MSM8690 system on a chip will have five times the performance and consume 75% less power than the original Snapdragon when it arrives in 2011.

It features the usual Wifi, GPS, Bluetooth and FM radio modules but also a multi-mode LTE/3G modem too and has 4 times the graphical horsepower.

Qualcomm also took the time to introduce its GPU roadmap for mobile devices. The Qualcomm Adreno 300 series allegedly offer the gaming performance of an Xbox or PS3. (We'll believe it when we see it.)

PCIE EXPRESS 3.0, 2X SPEED FOR ALL!

PCIE EXPRESS 3.0, 2X SPEED FOR ALL!

"Everything are faster than ever. "

Everything are faster than ever. Heading towards USB 3.0 and SATA 6GBPS, here comes the new PCIE standard: PCIE Express 3.0. PCIE Express is a port on your motherboard that is used for data storage, GPU and audio cards.

ENGADGET RELEASE:
First Bluetooth, then USB and now PCI Express. It's clearly the era of version 3.0, and given that the PCI Express specification has been humming along at 2.0 speeds for over two years now, we'd say an update was definitely due. Thankfully, the PCI-SIG has announced the availability of the PCIe Base 3.0 specification to its members today, and the highlights are certainly notable. There's a new 128b/130b encoding scheme and a data rate of 8 gigatransfers per second (GT/s), doubling the interconnect bandwidth over the PCIe 2.0 specification. And since we're sure you're fretting it, we'll go ahead and affirm that it maintains backward compatibility with previous PCIe architectures. We're also told that based on this data rate expansion, "it is possible for products designed to the PCIe 3.0 architecture to achieve bandwidth near 1 gigabyte per second (GB/s) in one direction on a single-lane (x1) configuration and scale to an aggregate approaching 32 GB/s on a sixteen-lane (x16) configuration." A lot of technobabble, sure, but one thing's for sure: your next graphics card is bound to murder your current one if paired with a PCIe 3.0 motherboard.

That is a OCZ Revo Drive X2 250GB SSD, things like this will become even more faster when PCIE express 3.0 eliminates the bottleneck of PCIE 2.0 speed.
That is a Nvidia GTX 580, with the introduction of PCIE Express 3.0, GPU manufacturers will be able to produce faster Graphics Card, and better scaling on SLI or Crossfire.
For those who don't know what is a PCIE ports... Those vertical red and black ports are PCIE ports, these are the current generation PCIE 2.0.

MY BIRTHDAY WISHLIST: IPOD NANO WATCH

My birthday wishlist: ipod nano watch

"From ipod nano to a watch. " [ENGADGET]

OK! I know we've seen a few of these already, and maybe you've decided that the whole iPod Nano watch dream was a silly one to begin with. But please, reserve judgment until you check out the TikTok and LunaTik.

The iPod Nano Watches to Rule Them All (Trust Me Here)
Scott Wilson, founder of Chicago-based design studio MINIMAL, wants to do the iPod Nano watch and he wants to do it right. His proposals: the TikTok and LunaTik, two gorgeous bands that give you a real deal multitouch wristwatch, not just a goofy way to strap your new MP3 player to your arm.

The TikTok is the cheaper of the two models, a plastic band with a snap-in frame inspired by the locking mechanisms in skiboots. The LunaTik is the real real deal, forged out of Aerospace Grade Aluminum and CNC machined into an iPod Nano-hugging work of art. The straps are made of silicone rubber and the bezel is comprised of two separate that lock together to secure your iPod in place.
The iPod Nano Watches to Rule Them All (Trust Me Here)
Wilson, who was once creative director for watches at Nike, has started a Kickstarter pagewhere people can fund the project. Currently, he's raised $3,686 of his $15,000 target, with 29 days left in the funding cycle. A $25 pledge preorders the TikTok, which will retail for $35, and a $50 pledge secures you the Lunatik, which will retail for $70, so you can save some cash by getting in on the ground floor. FIRESHEEP SNIFFS OUT FACEBOOK ACC ON WIFI HOTSPOTS

Firesheep sniffs out facebook acc on wifi hotspots

"Another security flaw. "

Firefox: Firesheep sniffs out and steals cookies—and the account and identity of the owner in the process—of popular web sites (like Facebook and Twitter) from the browsing sessions of other users on the Wi-Fi hot spot you're attached to.
Every time you sit down at a coffee house, turn on your computer, logon to the free Wi-Fi connection they provide, how safe do you think you, and your online activities, are? Well, apparently not really, because most websites only encrypt sensitive data like passwords during initial login, but everything else will still be in its original form. This means that your cookies will be extremely vulnerable and a simple HTTP session hijacking can get hold of that information and do anything they want on a particular website using your account.

A web app developer has recently developed the Firesheep, a Firefox addon that allows even the most novice user to scan a Wi-Fi network and hijack other people’s Facebook, Twitter and other online accounts. All the user has to do is connect to an open Wi-Fi network, click a button and the addon will start capturing login data and displaying user details at the sidebar. If they wish to hijack a particular account, all they have to do is double-click on the name and voila! They’re in. It’s a free and open source and please don’t be happy just because you think that your Apple Mac is very secure, it works on Mac OS X too. Mozilla can very well block the application, but according to the Director of Firefox, he said that they will not be doing that because it doesn’t exploit a vulnerability in the browser itself.

So just how exactly do you protect yourself from such attack should you connect to a public Wi-Fi next time? According to a senior security advisor at antivirus vendor Sophos, is to use a VPN whenever you’re connecting to a public Wi-Fi. A VPN will encrypt all traffic that goes on when you’re connected, including the sites Firesheep aims at attacking. It’s still not a total solution though, a VPN can only protect information on its server and once the information leaves the VPN, it’ll still be vulnerable, but it will take much more than Firesheep or a novice hacker to steal your data. Visit TechWorld for more tips on how to protect yourself from Firesheep.
